nongshim to construct and operate 'k-smart farm' in saudi arabiaNongshim has been selected for the 'Smart Farm Export Promotion Project(Establishment and Operation of a Pliot Greenhouse in Saudi Arabia)' sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and organized by the rural Development Administration. The Agreement ceremony took place at Nongshim headquarters on July 22nd. This project aims to establish and operate a Korean-style smart farm model in Saudi Arabia to promote demestic smart farm technology in the Middle Eastern market. ................................. Nongshim is partnering with three SMEs as a consortium to drive this project forward. Facility construction and operation will be handled by Nongshim, while greenhouse operations and crop cultivation technology transfer will be managed by 'SFarm,' smart farm management AI robots by 'iCrops,' and smart farm plant information technology by 'POMIT.' Nongshim plans to build and operate smart farm facilities on a 4,000 square meter site in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia by the end of 2025. ................................. Nongshim plans to first sell the produced crops through its local Saudi partners' existing distribution networks and later expand to retailers like Carrefour, Lulu Hypermarket, Amazon, and Noon. "We will successfully operate the Korean-style smart farm model in Saudi Arabia with consortium companies," said a Nongshim official.
